Wow! These last 2 years have flown by!
There have been so many highlights that it's hard to know where to start... scratch that, it's easy!
The number 1 highlight over the last couple of years has been the many friendships we've made as a result of this little cafe. From our own small team, past and present, to the dedicated local suppliers and producers we work closely with, and the whole host of characters that come in to enjoy our food and drink. It's been a privilege to get to know you all. Thanks for making all of the hard work worth it!
In addition to running the cafe we have also been hosting a range of evening events just to keep us on our toes. We've celebrated weddings, birthdays, babies and graduations with you, supported local charities and projects such as the Multi-Cultural Family Base, Creative Electric's community arts cafes, and Trivia Newton John's charity quiz nights. We've dined fine for our Burns Supper, explored seasonal dining inspired by nature with Buck and Birch and discovered Romanian Roots with the Southside Food Assembly. We've even watched your families grow with events like Slow Food's Family Meal and our Rhymetimes with Simon!
These, of course, are just to name a few. We look forward to many more reasons to get together to celebrate good food in good company. We have some exciting plans and collaborations coming up this year, first up with Slow Foods AGM (check out our events) - open to anyone interested in Slow Food, find out more about Slow Food movement below.
Finally, we are always working on expanding the retail side of our business and extremely excited to become a pick up point for Phantassie Farms Organic Produce boxes. Now, in addition to buying the same delicious eggs that we use, the same outstanding bread and the same fresh milk, you can order yourself a box of the same produce you've sampled on our menu! Eating fresh, seasonal, organic, ethically farmed food has never been so convenient! Just head over to the Phantassie website to order
Musings over - here's to the next couple of years!
